Hey all, it's been awhile since I posted anything so I wanted to make this one special.
I'm holding a contest to color this lineart.
bksmith.deviantart.com/art/Kay…Rules - You can color the picture anyway you want. Photoshop, Gimp, MS Paint (though I wouldn't recommend it), colored pencils, watercolors, crayons, you name it. You can use the classic color scheme (i.e. blue-grey skin, silver/white hair, reddish-brown eyes...) or come up with your own. Creativity is entirely encouraged, though it won't necessarily be a judging point.
- If you feel the need to erase, add, extend, thin out, or increase the thickness of any line you are more than welcome to do so. I understand there are a ton of gaps and I apologize profusely. Also, if you desire, you may add a background to the image, though I would prefer it be one of your creation. You can make any changes you feel are necessary to the lineart so long as it doesn't change the image drastically (remember this is a coloring contest, not a redrawing contest
).

The deadline for submission is July 30, slightly more than a month from now. Take your time with the image and be creative.
Prizes -
First Place -
-
Honorable Mentions -
- I dunno. I don't have much in the way of prizes at the moment, so this portion of the contest is subject to change in the future. I'll make it nice and worthwhile.
You can submit your entries one of two ways. If you have a dA account place a link in a comment to this journal to submit your work. Alternately, if you found this though Tumblr, you can e-mail the file to me at the address listed on my homepage. Though the deviantART method is prefered (since I'll be able to post a link to the winners), both methods are acceptable.
Notes - For those who don't know,
Kaylee is a space pirate. - You are absolutely and in all rights entitled to post your submission on your deviantART page (it's expected) or your Tumblog, under the sole condition that you give me credit as the lineartist for the original piece.
I don't expect anyone to steal the image, but it's happened to me before so I'm trying to be somewhat cautious.
- The image you download from the link is already the proper size for an 8.5 X 11 inch sheet of paper, though printing with preview and scaling to fit will definitely improve the quality and keep you from cutting off bits of the lineart.
If you have any questions about the contest don't hesitate to ask (though I would prefer you put them in the comments section here so others can get the info too
),
Multiple entries are allowed.
Also, I apologize for the incredibly long and wordy journal.
Good luck!
